Experience the Technical Climb

Mount Meru | 4 days

Tour Overview

Mount Meru, rising to 4,566m (14,980ft), is Tanzania’s second-highest peak and a spectacular trekking destination located inside Arusha National Park. Often considered Kilimanjaro’s “little brother,” Meru offers a shorter but equally rewarding climb, with dramatic volcanic scenery, rich wildlife encounters, and panoramic views of Kilimanjaro itself.

Unlike Kilimanjaro, the trek begins with a walking safari, where giraffes, buffalo, antelopes, and monkeys roam freely along the trail. The climb then ascends through lush rainforest, heathland, and alpine desert, culminating in a sunrise summit at Socialist Peak. The 4-day itinerary includes an extra acclimatization day at Saddle Hut, making it the most balanced option for trekkers who want both comfort and success.

This trek is ideal for adventurers seeking a moderate challenge, diverse landscapes, and unforgettable views, all within a shorter timeframe than Kilimanjaro.
